Our company maintains a database with the registration of its clients, being collected and processed automatically. The collection of user identification data may be carried out via the Internet (on the site itself), phone, or through printed forms and will be processed, under the terms approved by the Portuguese National Data Protection Commission. All data collection will operate in accordance with the strictest security rules, and no external entity to the company has access or can consult these data.

All employees are covered by a duty of secrecy and confidentiality regarding the data, being duly informed of the importance of complying with this legal duty of secrecy, and the corresponding responsibility is demanded from them.

In no situation will information be requested about philosophical or political convictions, party or trade union affiliation, religious faith, private life, and racial or ethnic origin, as well as data concerning health and sexual life, including genetic data.

The Processing of Personal Data is carried out in strict compliance with personal data protection legislation, all in accordance with the provisions of European Directives 95/46 and 2002/58, Law No. 67/98 of October 26, and/or any legislation that regulates, amends, or replaces the “Personal Data Protection Regulation” (hereinafter referred to as PDPR).

Any personal data that USERS may disclose to the company will be understood as obtained, processed, and transmitted under strict compliance with the PDPR.

Barcadouro declares and guarantees that it has implemented and will continue to implement the necessary technical and organizational security measures to ensure the security of personal data in order to avoid their alteration, loss, processing, and/or unauthorized access, taking into account the current state of technology, the nature of the stored data, and the risks to which they are exposed.

All data collected through the website are entirely confidential and intended for customer and service management, as well as for the company’s marketing actions.

Personal Data Processing:
Personal Data obtained through our website, phone, email, or through printed forms are incorporated into a computer application. Access to the information on file by employees is only possible with the insertion of access codes, with the record being documented. The alteration of existing data in the files is possible, with a record of the date and the user code responsible for the alteration.

Personal Data are treated with the degree of legal protection required to ensure their security and to prevent their alteration, loss, treatment, or unauthorized access, taking into account the state of technology, being the user aware and accepting that Internet security measures are not impregnable. Our company is equipped with technical infrastructures of peripheral control, namely network firewalls, private circuits, and VPNs that respect security requirements. The computer servers are hosted by a data center operator which performs a digital information protection service for the hosted servers. The service includes file backup, its preservation according to the defined policy, and restore upon request.

For the safety of customers, we use the SSL – Secure Socket Layer security certificate, which is used to improve the security of data transmission over the Internet: this technology encrypts and protects the transmitted data using the HTTPS protocol. SSL ensures site visitors that the data provided will not be fraudulently intercepted. For security reasons applicable to certain countries, it is mandatory to place in flight reservations information regarding data such as name, passport number, gender, age, nationality. This information contained in the reservation may be consulted by the customs authorities of the countries of origin or destination.

Our company, by accessing any personal data, commits to:

Store them through legally required security measures, of a technical and organizational nature, that ensure their security, thus avoiding their alteration, loss, treatment, or unauthorized access, in accordance with the state of technology at each moment, the nature of the data, and the possible risks to which they are exposed;
Use or apply the data exclusively for the duly foreseen purposes;
Ensure that the data is handled only by employees whose intervention is necessary for the provision of the service, being the same obliged to the duty of secrecy and confidentiality. If there is a possibility of the information being disclosed to third parties, they must be obliged to keep the due confidentiality in accordance with the provisions of this document.
